Garden Planting Service
We can Design, Supply and Plant Garden Planting Schemes
The planting in any garden design is really important, it’s even more important to get it right past the initial ‘looks good’ stage! Our professional trained in-house horticulturists can provide a scheme for your garden, or even as part of a planning condition, based upon your soil structure, exposure and microclimate all tailored to your own personal tastes on colour, size, foliage types, maintenance demands and price range. This will make sure your garden thrives long term due to the right plants being chosen! Our garden planting service is led by trained professional and passionate gardeners working throughout Kent, Sussex and Surrey, it is quite common for this to be integrated into the design process but we are equally happy to offer the service for your own project or existing garden.
“Thank you for the really excellent planting plans. Absolutely great! Looking forward to getting on with the project!”
“Now that the Pond is finished I wanted to thank you for all your help and expert advice. Every single plant seems to have taken and taken well! Here’s to Stage 2…”
Planting Service – The Garden Planting Plan
In order to get a planting scheme correct and working harmoniously in the ground its always wise to start with a planting plan. The team regularly put these together and offer them as part of the planting service, they will typically come to you as an A3 showing position, type, size and general maintenance requirements for all plants/trees specified plus associated schedule. Following a consultation with one of our horticultural designers, the planting scheme will be put together as either a hand drawn or computer generated plan (which ever you prefer), if you would then like to make any revisions following the planting plan being presented to you these are free of charge.
Planting Service – Professionally Planted
Some of our clients like to put their own plants in based upon our design work however some come to us looking for professional hands to complete the transformation! As part of our garden planting service we offer skilled passionate teams led by experienced horticulturists to plant all scales of schemes from single borders to garden-wide designs. All of our friendly and polite planting crews come well equipped, conform to all applicable health and safety standards and take any waste generated away with them. The only hint that anyone has been in the garden will be a magnificent array of new plants!
Planting Service – Popular Plants for Planting Schemes
Like clothes, plants come and go as fashions and tastes change. This is inevitably led by shows like RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Through regular conversations with our in-house horticulturists who make it their mission to be up to date with trends which these shows display, a few plants are shining-through as the must-haves for the coming year. If your looking for a starting point for a planting scheme your considering have you thought about including:
- Cenolophium denudatum. Deep green ferny foliage and lacy flower heads.
- Selinum wallichianum. Beautiful deep red stems and cow parsley flowers.
- Gladiolus murielae. Incredibly fragrant spikes of nodding white flowers.
- Paeonia lactiflora ‘Festiva Maxima‘. Every garden has to have a show stopper; flamboyant and beautiful!
- Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’. Flowers held on tall wire stems, add a little ‘ditsy’ punch to borders.
- Aconitum napellus. Swords of purple flowers look beautiful just swaying in the breeze under a silver birch.
- Cornus sanguinea ‘Midwinter Fire’. A winter favourite, brilliant red and orange stems.
Planting Service – New Planting Scheme After-Care
Along with the planting service we usually provide with our garden design service, or independently for an existing project you may have, we can also provide detailed after-care sheets which explain the requirements of your new planting all year round. These planting sheets outline what you should be doing and when to ensure the planting schemes continued growth and vitality.
